Tornadoes kill 35 in 6 US states

WASHIN T N A P — At least people were killed in tornadoes that ravaged neighborho­ods across six states, S media said Tuesday, but Mother Nature was not done yet and was threatenin­g to unleash hail the si e of baseballs.

In hard-hit Mississipp­i, Alabama and Tennessee, at least people were killed Monday, CNN television said. Another were reported dead in Arkansas, Iowa and klahoma on Sunday.

ut forecaster­s warned more brutal weather was set to hit, affecting an estimated million people.

The National Weather Service said that “severe thundersto­rms” were expected in eastern and southern Mississipp­i, western Alabama and extreme eastern Louisiana.

It also forecast several tornadoes, some of them “intense,” baseball-si ed hail and damaging winds.

Among the dead was niversity of Alabama student ohn Servati, who perished saving his girlfriend from a wall that fell and would have otherwise crushed her, The Clarion-Ledger reported.
