Purisima summons PNP execs on missing rifles
Philippine National Police chief Director eneral Alan Purisima yesterday reminded PNP officials not to disclose to media half-ba ed information on the missing 1, A - and M-16 rifles so as not to preempt the ongoing investigation.
Purisima called into his office several police officials who attended a hearing at the ouse of Representatives in connection with the missing firearms.
Summoned were Criminal Investigation and Detection roup (CID ) chief Director en amin Magalong, Civil Security roup director Chief Superintendent Melito Mabili and Firearms and Explosives Office acting chief Senior Superintendent Robert Po.
Purisima called the attention of the police officials after information on the missing A - was prematurely disclosed to lawma ers and the media last wee .
The CID earlier said at least 1 police officials may be held liable for the missing high powered firearms that ended up in the hands of the New People’s Army rebels.
Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, head of the PNP Public Information Office, said the police officers were reminded to reveal information on the missing guns only with concrete evidence.
