Ceme has recently inked an agreement with the :eather Philippines )oundation :P) and its strategic partner from (urope for the installation of utomated :eather Station :S units in its key business sites across the country.
Si shipping terminals of Ceme located at the P2 Port in 1aga, Cebu; Iloilo Commercial Port Comple in :estern 9isayas; Manila Terminal in 1avotas; Solid Plant in Tagbac, 5i al; E J Simlong in Batangas; and E J Tibungco in Davao have been identified as key installation sites for :P)’s weather stations.
ccording to Michael Martin Teotico, logistics director of Ceme Philippines, the move will help the company’s port and logistics group in better managing offshore dispatch to ensure that Ceme ’s cement products will be delivered to intended recipients on time and in e cellent condition.
Most importantly, the move is one of Ceme ’s corporate social responsibility efforts in aiding locali ed disaster preparedness and, subsequently, disaster relief or rehabilitation.
This will allow us to share weather information gathered from the :S units to the nearby communities, so local government units as well as the local folks can better use it for disaster risk management and climate change adaptation, added Teotico.
