1st CCP National Ballet Competitio­n 2014

The Cultural Center of the Philippine­s is pleased to announce the finalists of the 1st CCP National Ballet Competitio­n 2014 which will be held at 6 pm at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater) on Nov. 6 for the Junior Category competitio­n and on Nov. 8 for the Senior Category competitio­n.

The finalists of the Junior Category ( 13 years old to 18 years old) are: Pamela Anne Almaden, Sharmaine Grace Animas , Veronica Atienza, Paul Jayson Austria, Jessa Balote, Rissa May Camaclang, Maria Michaella Carreon, Jhoy Anne Maverick Chavez, Pia Angela Custodio, Beatriz Marie Diche, Michelle Elizabeth Elizalde, Maria Katherine Paulette Estampador, Marinette Franco, Adriana Gozun, Abigail Macatangay, Jayrald Magat, Chiles Danielle Maraña, Kievert Jon Mendoza, Clark David Ortega, Alexis Piel, Lea Klariza Roque, Mikaela Lauryn Santos, Eloisa Jessa Tangalin, Ma. Alexa Andrea Torte, and Jan Mikaela Villanueva

The finalists of the Senior Category (18 years old+1 day to 25 years old by Nov. 4) are: A.L. Frederick Abraham, Karla Marie Aquino, Angella Betina Carlos, Cassandra Colleen Chan, Garry Corpuz, Matthew Davo, John Stephen De Dios, Mark Anthony Grantos, Marie Kimberly Lim, Ma. Regina Magbitang, Victor Maguad, Minette Caryl Maza, Jamil Montibon, Aldrian Reifaus Ocampo, Denise Parungao, Robert John Peralta, Aisha Josephine Polestico, Jemima Sanielle Reyes, Sarah Maria Samaniego, Katrene Marice San Miguel, and Maria Corinne Rosario Siniguan.

A jury of five adjudicato­rs – four Filipinos known in the field, and one from the Asian region will evaluate the competitio­n. Awards at stake are P35,000 for the first, P25,000 for the second, and P15,000 for the third prizes in each of the categories. The Trudl Dubsky Award will also be given for the best choreograp­hy.
