Cruz, Sangil claim E Ridge 4x4 crowns

Dan Emilio Cruz and Raymund Sangil carted away the overall gross title of the 4X4 Invitational as they strung up 224 Stableford points after four rounds at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.

Cruz and Sangil shot 72 and 67 at the Norman and Faldo courses on aggregate format, 44 at the Dye and 41 at the Aoki on best ball and scramble scoring systems for that 224.

Rolly Dizon and Virgilio David secured the victory in the overall low net competition, turning in the maximum points in all layouts (Norman 84, Faldo 84, Dye 44 and Aoki 44) for 256.

Ireneo Arbues and Moses Lin assembled 253 to rule Class A of the event sponsored by San MiguelPurefoods, WGC Golf, Toyota Calamba Laguna, Sta. Lucia, ICTSI, LK Golf and Inquirer Golf.

Ramil Villanueva, Eagle Ridge’s chairman for sports and games committee, and Arnel Paras placed second with 246 followed by Korean members An Youn Hwan and Lee Tai Hyun’s 245.

Frank and Danny Gutierrez took Class B honors with a total of 245 after it won by countback while Rolando Torres and Cristeto Mariano made 250 for the Class C crown.

The pair of Cesar Dones and Perpetuo Faytaren prevailed in Class D with 253. Catherine Borja and Abigael Lapid collected 210 to triumph in the ladies category.

Erwin Beltran and Jose Cristi (member-member), Park Sang Wook and Kim Byoung Ouk (guest-guest) and Nestor Sevilla and actor/singer Boboy Garovillo were the other winners.
