Queens of their trade

-

This year, Victorinox marked another milestone as it introduced its first women’s line called Victoria, named after its founder’s mother. In an intimate gathering titled Queens

of Their Trade held last Nov. 13 at the New World Hotel.

The story of Victorinox began in 1884, when Karl Elsener opened a cutlery workshop to deliver a solider knife to the Swiss Army. Little did he know that what he had invented would go on to become an iconic and legendary tool, the Original Swiss Army Knife.

Over the years, customers’ needs and technology continuously change and Victorinox had to evolve so as to respond and deliver products that are likewise revolutionary and essential for both its alpha male market and also that of the modern female warrior.

In true Swiss fashion, the event started with the ringing of a bell, a custom held in Switzerland to mark the beginning of any important celebration. Soon, the program began with Jimmy Thai, CEO of the Primer Group of Companies, welcoming the guests to the celebration. It was followed by speeches from Swiss Ambassador No Sieber and Philippine Swiss Business Council chair, Rosario Cajucom- Bradbury. The formal launch of Victoria was led by Gracita Seiber, wife of Ambassador Seiber, with a ceremonial checkmate move on a lighted chessboard; a move that symbolized the strength of the Queen.

Another highlight of the evening was the honoring of five Filipina CEOs: Rosario Cajucom Bradbury (SGS), Marife Zamore (Convergys), Maan Hontiveros (Air Asia), Pat Cortez (DKSH) and Amb. Delia Albert (SGV). The Filipina achievers were selected based on their significant contributions to their respective fields of disciplines and like Victoria, embody strength, character, versatility and excellence.

With the launch of its first women’s line, Victorinox has now expanded its reach to the modern woman offering her a reliable companion for her versatile lifestyle.
