Ryan as a husband and father

-

Being a good husband and father can be hard work. But Ryan Agoncillo finds fulfillment and enjoyment in these roles. Being married for six years to wife Judy Ann Santos and being a doting father to kids Yohan and Lucho, the Kapuso actor/TV host makes sure he spends quality time with his family when he is not working.

He has always been a family-oriented person, looking up to his dad and brother as his role models. And when he is at home, Ryan sees to it that his kids get his full attention and their family activities his top priority.

“There is no such thing as typical weekend in our home. But you can be sure it would be a merry mix of sweating it out by running, biking, swimming or maybe all of them, plus great food by the missus. And lots of play and laugh time with the kids. That’s either at home or out of town, whatever the setting, it’s the same banana.”

For Ryan, he wouldn’t trade these priceless moments with his family for anything in the world. After all, his kids, who are “both very funny but with very confident personalities,” are growing up so fast, and he wants to be present and involved in their day-to-day development.

Apart from co-hosting Eat, Bulaga!, Ryan is also seen every Sunday on GMA Network’s family sitcom Ismol Family, which is now on its fourth season. The program, which airs after Vampire Ang Daddy Ko, has been dominating its timeslot with high TV ratings since its debut last year.

When asked about the secret behind the success of Ismol Family, Ryan says that aside from the relaxed, fun but efficient working style that has been established on set, it is the relatable storyline that charms viewers every Sunday evening.

“Apart from the good vibes on set, I would like to believe that the writing is just plain crazy and highly imaginative, you know it’s gonna be good when at home you’re laughing alone just reading off the pages of the script. And also the captain of our ship, director Dominic Zapata, is really the funniest man on the set, whipping everything up to a frenzy,” he says.

In Ismol Family, Ryan plays the role of Jingo, a responsible and loving husband to his pretty and strong-willed wife Majay played by Carla Abellana.
