Shaira & Mark’s onscreen ‘magic’
Their fourth project as a love team proves that Mark Neumann and Shaira Mae have undeniable “magic” onscreen, endearing them to Wattpad followers and their fast-growing fan base.
The positive feedback has earned them TV5’s two thumbs-up that they were paired up anew via Wattpad’s newest episode titled The Magic in You premiering tonight at 9. The romantic offering is based on the online novel originally written by marielicious.
“I guess the secret to our solid tandem is that Mark and I trust each other just like the way TV5 believes in our abilities. In return, we show our appreciation to the management. Kumbaga, we return the favor by doing good in the projects TV5 is entrusting to us. We really give our 100 percent; the best that we can give para masuklian po yung
binibigay nila,” Shaira said during the grand presscon held recently.
“We’re very honored, thankful and blessed to be part of this project,” Mark beamed as Shaira furthered, “We couldn’t describe the happiness we feel for the trust that TV5 is giving us and we’re so blessed and lucky kasi kami ang napili para dito.”
Asked if there’s pressure playing the roles and at the same time promoting Hong Kong Disneyland, known to be “the happiest place on earth,” as the setting of their show, Mark
told The STAR, “Yes, there is. It’s a big pressure because Hong Kong Disneyland is such a beautiful, wonderful place. We have to show the beauty of Disneyland and everything. Acting-wise, there is pressure of
course, kasi you have to do better than your last project.”
Shaira observed, “It’s a good pressure din naman because it pushes us to be creative, how we attack a particular scene and what best ways to do that would promote the magical world of Disneyland.”
Shaira and Mark, whose uniname is “ShaRk,” believed that whatever magic their tandem creates is because they give importance and do their best in whatever they do, regardless of their real status. Their “special” friendship could mean something only if Shaira is not committed to Edgar Allan Guzman. They have been going steady since last year.
No jealousy issues on the part of Edgar Allan assured Shaira, even if there are rumors about her and Mark’s extra sweetness during their Hong Kong Disneyland taping for Wattpad. “Super close na po talaga kami ni Mark. He’s a special friend; very thoughtful, gentleman and always ready to help me.”
According to Shaira, Edgar Allan is “happy with the success of our love team and as long as Mark takes care of me, he is okay with it.” As a matter of fact, she added, her boyfriend is also a fan of the ShaRk love team.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend Edgar Allan being linked to Maxene Magalona, especially after the two performed together on a Kapamilya show is the least thing that Shaira would be paying attention to. Admitting that she was initially affected, Shaira however, understands that it is part of their job as
artista.
For Mark, aside from being vocal about his admiration for Shaira, prefers to keep mum about his personal life and would rather concentrate on his career for now.
Mark expressed delight on receiving positive feedback from fans but cleared that there’s no competition going on between him and fellow Artista Academy ( AA) batchmates. He said that they consider one another a one big family.
Apparently, Mark is the most visible male AA alum and homegrown star of the Happy Network.
“Actually, I wasn’t totally sad that I didn’t win the top prize in Artista Academy but I was still happy because for
me, parang isang malaking opportunity just to be in that show. Just that I got in, okay na sa ‘kin yun, e. It’s an achievement already. It is a blessing and extra bonus that I was given projects. I was given my first project as part of Kidlat after AA. Then came Confessions, Madam Chairman, sunod-sunod na hanggang Wattpad, and from Wattpad dire-diretso na po that’s why I feel blessed and I’m very happy for this.”
