Alay Lakad elects new officers
Alay Lakad Foundation Inc. has elected its new officers and board of trustees during the 17th General Assembly recently held at the PNP, Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The new set of officers is headed by civic leader and Manila Rotary president Frank Evaristo, president; Lion’s governor John Siy, vice president; Kiwanis Belinda Zalameda, corporate secretary; GSP Yolanda Hernandez, treasurer; Delfin Go, assistant treasurer; and Rev. Leonida Macasaet, auditor.
The other members of the board include the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Pugad Lawin Philippines, Inc., Young Men’s Christian Association, Young Women’s Christian Association, and Dr. Teruko Haga.
The permanent members of the board are the Armed Forces of the Philippines headed by Gen. Gregorio Catapang, DILG Secretary Manuel Roxas II, DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro, PNP headed by Gen. Leonardo Espina, Philippine Information Agency headed by Jose Mari Oquinena, Junior Chamber International headed by national president Marc Brian Lim, Kiwanis International headed by Gov. Melvin Mendoza, Lions Clubs International Dist. 301-A1 headed by Gov. Marissa Sy, District 301-A2 headed by Gov. Billy Daza, and District 301-A3 Valentin Co and Rotary International District 3810 headed by Gov. Roberto Pagdanganan.
The Foundation has funded educational assistance and livelihood projects amounting to P300,000 this year. It hopes to generate more funds for out-of-school youth projects.
President Aquino is the honorary chairman of Alay Lakad Foundation.
