Stars at 1st Summer Pow Wow

-

Celebrity mother of three and breast-feeding advocate Bianca Lapus and her friends in the entertainment business share experiences about family, friendship and parenting, specifically motherhood, on a regular basis. They constantly chat but do not have time to meet. They ever so often text, Viber and Instagram, especially when one needs the support of each other. So when Bianca proposed the first-ever celebrity play date, they were excited to jump in.

The idea of bringing celebrity parents and their kids together is a rare yet amazing opportunity to create moments with fellow celebrity families. They share the same convictions when it comes to family bonding and child development. This inspired Bianca in organizing a play date to further the cause, which also motivated her to seek the support of her friends and partner-sponsors close to her heart.

The latest addition to her partners’ circle is the new Huggies Baby Wipes. “I am happy that they teamed up with me in this play date, because I am a Huggies wipes enthusiast myself. I even have them shipped over from the States when a relative or friend would come over to Manila for a visit. So I’m glad that it’s finally here in the Philippines.” The first-ever Summer Pow Wow

Play Date took place last May 17 at the Atrium Hall of Enderun Colleges. More than 20 celebrity parents and their kids graced the event, which included Melissa Ricks, Matt Evans, Jimmy and LJ Moreno-Alapag, Chef Rosebud Benitez, Bea Saw, Roxanne Guinoo-Yap, Empress Schuck, Anna Larrucea, Nene Tamayo, Helga Krapf, Yasmien Kurdi, Chariz Solomon, Nina Corpuz, Gladys Reyes and Niño Muhlach with son Alonzo. Say Alonso-Tordesillas hosted the program and she was as hands-on in playing with her son Asher as the other celebrity parents the whole afternoon.

One of the highlights that made the play date special was the parenting talk titled Sabi ni Mister, Sabi ni Misis by Anthony and Maricel Pangilinan. (Maricel is the editor-in-chief of Celebrity Mom Magazine with masters degree in Family Life and Child Development, while Anthony holds the chairmanship of Business Works, Inc, a key player in the management training and consulting. Both are brand ambassadors of the National Council for Children’s Television.)

The afternoon was packed with funfilled activities for kids. One of which was a Gymboree activity where celebrity tots mingled with each other at the play area, plus a joint arts and music activity where the kids had a blast singing and craft-making with their parents. Moments like this are what Bianca considers priceless. More so that she and her friends created memories their kids will treasure every time they look back to their childhood days.
