Mikael & Andrea star in Blood in Dispute
Kapuso stars Mikael Daez and Andrea Torres flew to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to shoot for three weeks for their first international project, Blood in Dispute. And after their successful filming in Cambodia, the whole cast and production team arrived in Manila recently to shoot the remaining scenes.
The love team of Mikael and Andrea gained popularity in Cambodia and earned a local fan base after the telecast of their teleseryes Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga and With a Smile.
Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, Mikael and Andrea guested on several TV shows to promote the movie. “We were surprised kasi marami silang TV stations doon and conservative pa sila, kaya
medyo mahinhin ang pagsayaw ko doon during our TV guestings,” shared Andrea during a location shoot in Quezon City.
In Blood in Dispute, Mikael is Marco, the son of a Filipina and Cambodian. He went to Cambodia to reconnect with the family of his father and to experience their culture. “I play a Muay Thai fighter in Manila at pagdating ko naman sa Cambodia ay pinag-aralan ko naman ang Bokator, one of the oldest existing martial arts in Cambodia. Not knowing in the end, kapatid ko pala ang makakalaban ko,” said Mikael.
Blood in Dispute is a co-production of GMA 7 and Cambodia Television Network (CTN). The action-drama film also stars Cambodian actors Khat Vaihang, Meas Thorn Sreynai and Tep Rindaro, under the direction of Ken Simpson, screenplay by Romilly Belcourt and director of photography by Alex Dacev.
Blood in Dispute, also produced by Phum Pich Films, is scheduled to premiere in the Philippines as a teleserye this year while it will be shown in Cambodia as a movie and TV special in August.
