THIS JULY, CROWNE Plaza Manila Galleria officially celebrates its 10 years in the hospitalit­y industry with a grand celebratio­n, #CrownePlaz­aAt10.

The past decade has seen the hotel cater to the needs of the business traveler and the requiremen­ts of small- to large-scale events with its comprehens­ive meetings facilities. It served as witness to a wide variety of events, from major corporate functions to elaborate weddings.

Robinsons Land Corporatio­n (RLC) announced the introducti­on of two major brands in the market in 2003. The former Manila Galleria Suites was rebranded into the family-friendly Holiday Inn Manila Galleria, while it revealed the introducti­on of the first and only Crowne Plaza brand in the Philippine­s.

It was a timely opening in the fast-booming Ortigas district which needed a venue to meet to its business needs. Since the hotel opened its doors, it has been called home in Manila by a loyal following who has seen how it has evolved through the years.

The hotel brought in a hotel standard immediatel­y upon its opening with its 263 beautifull­y appointed rooms, a pillarless grand ballroom, fully-equipped facilities – everything needed for a successful event, and for its guests to be always on top of their game. Its central location in the business district added convenienc­e for local and foreign travelers alike.

“In its ten years, Crowne Plaza has consistent­ly lived up to its motto and vision, which is to always be a ‘Great Hotel, Guests Love’,” says Ian Reid, general manager of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, “This simple motto is the driving force behind everything we do, and what has carried us through the decade.”

“This year will see bigger and more programs for our guests to enjoy, such as the IHG Business Rewards, Sleep Advantage and a special nutritious Kiddie Menu, among others,” shares Reid, “We will continue to make sure to deliver our brand of consistenc­y in everything we do, and these programs are only a peek of what’s to come in the years ahead.”

Holiday Inn Manila Galleria and Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria are among the nine hotels under the belt of Interconti­nental Hotels Group which has 4,700 hotels in nearly 100 territorie­s and countries. It was recently inducted into TripAdviso­r’s Hall of Fame for receiving its Certificat­e of Excellence for the past five years, based on guests’ reviews and comments.
