And to ensure that no rainforests were destroyed in the production, suppliers of palm-derived ingredients need to present a certification from the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

At present, the company — with 30 local branches and overseas outlets in Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE and the US — has an extensive lineup of products ranging from body cleansing and mineral makeup to baby care and sunscreens. The latter is the oldest and largest nonprofit organization in the US dedicated to the natural products industry.

From five employees in 2008, including the Meloto sisters and Anna’s husband, Dylan, Human Nature has grown to 300, supported by thousands of dealers, who have developed into social entrepreneurs themselves.
