The stores also serve as a distribution channel for 11 social enterprise brands including Bayani Brew, Trese, Dr. Gerry’s Coco Nectar, Precious Herbal Pillows, Plush & Play, Theo & Philo, Kape Maria, and Marsse.
For seven years, Human Nature has been researching on locally-grown cosmetic ingredients and creating guiltfree alternative products, including homecare brands, which meet the standards of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the Natural Products Association. The latter is the oldest and largest nonprofit organization in the US dedicated to the natural products industry.
“Our products feel as good on your skin as they do in your heart. It used to be that getting ethically-produced, highquality goods meant paying a premium,” shares Human Nature president and cofounder Anna Meloto-Wilk.
From five employees in 2008, including the Meloto sisters and Anna’s husband, Dylan, Human Nature has grown to 300, supported by thousands of dealers, who have developed into social entrepreneurs themselves.
