-

Arnel Pineda (photo) and Sanre Entertainment have announced that due to a huge upswing in interest by corporate sponsors, international distribution companies and the public that the Asian Music Camp will now become The World Music Camp to encompass talent from around the world. The original Asian Music Camp, a televised/Internet music contest, was restricted to contestants residing in Asia or of Asian descent. But greater involvement from corporate sponsors and a massive increase in online response motivated the producers to expand the contest worldwide.

Most rules for entry will still apply and all entry submissions for Asian Music Camp on their website will still be accepted. Registration is extended and the new cut-off date will be announced.

“We’re very excited about expanding the chances for all musical talent around the world to participate,” a spokesman for Sanre remarked. “The Internet has made the world a smaller place, and gives everyone now the chance to become the next great world-music talent,” said Rene Walter, president of Sanre.

Arnel Pineda, partner with Sanre and the lead singer of the legendary rockband Journey, along with many famous international musical talents will judge, encourage and help select a winner. Initial voting will be over the Internet and the final winner will receive approximately $1M in prizes, including recording and management contracts and professional mentorship.
