Last call to join Nippon Paint Young Designer Awards 2015

Calling all young interior designers and architects in Manila, Cebu and Davao: This is your last chance to step up and join the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award ( NPYDA) 2015, a regional competition across 10 Asia Pacific countries initiated by Asia’s No.1 coatings manufacturer Nippon Paint.

Using this year’s theme as their guide, “Design with Heart,” participating students in this year’s NPYDA are challenged to further push the boundaries for future living by creating breathing, working and leisure spaces that will benefit people from all walks of life, including the physically challenged community, the elderly, the young, and nursing mothers. Deadline of entries is Sept. 30.

“We encourage every young Filipino designer and architect to join the NPYDA 2015 and start making their mark in their respective fields as early as now,” said Gladys Goh, group general manager of Nippon Paint Malaysia Group. “We, at Nippon Paint, are very happy to support and promote the outstanding, eccentric, functional and out-of-the box concepts of tomorrow’s builders,” she added.

Each of the gold awardees will win P50,000 cash prize, a six-month internship at Lor Calma & Partners (for Interior Design)/ Casas Architects (for Architecture), plus an allexpense paid overseas trip for a once-in-a lifetime learning program, an exclusive workshop crafted especially for winners featuring internationally renowned speakers in the fields of architecture and interior design.

The winner’s professor/ adviser will also get P10,000 cash prize, while his or her academic institution will receive P10,000 cash prize and P10,000- worth of paint voucher.

The silver awardee will receive P30,000 cash prize and a plaque. Eight finalists will get P10,000 each, and special awards will also be given out to Best Colour Choice and Best Green Innovation with P5,000 cash prize each.
