President Aquino losing his grip on many issues

- By BOBIT S. AVILA

The Aquino regime is very good in using people when they can be tapped to suit their political needs to stay in power. A case in point is the late Department of Interior and Local Government ( DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo, who was truly a shining star in the Aquino Cabinet. Yet he was never given the job to handle the Philippine National Police (PNP) because this was given to “Kabarilan” Rico Puno who was just an undersecretary in DILG.

Worse, despite the fact that Pres. Aquino had a stranglehold of all Liberal Party (LP) Congressmen, the late Sec. Jesse Robredo was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments (CA), until his untimely demise three years ago. Then out of the blue, the Yellow propagandists suddenly lionized the late Sec. Robredo, literally giving him a state funeral. Yet PNP officers ransacked his office in the DILG for unknown reasons. Now the Liberal Party (LP) is saying that a Mar Roxas-Leni Robredo tandem is in the offing. Wow! In the name of politics… they would even use the widow of Jesse Robredo because she perfectly suits the needs of the Aquino regime.

Meanwhile in the up and coming presidential race, after trying to convince in so many meetings, some even clandestinely to have Sen. Grace Poe to run as the vice-president for Mar Roxas, last Sept. 16 Sen. Grace Poe finally threw her hat into the presidential ring and that signaled the spin masters of this Yellow regime to start tightening the noose on the neck of Sen. Poe led by Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, the chairman of the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) who announced that Sen. Poe is not a natural-born citizen, but a naturalized citizen, unless she proves that her biological parents are Filipinos.

I don’t know what kind of stunt Justice Carpio is playing here, but former Justice Secretary Rep. Silvestre Bello III came out in the open to expose Justice Carpio for having an “umbilical” cord with Atty. Avelino Cruz Jr. who is the legal counsel of Sec. Mar Roxas at “The Firm” known as Villaraza, Cruz, Marcelo & Angangco (CVCLAW). Wow! Is delicadeza no longer in practice even in the Halls of Justice? Even to the uninitiated, when Grace Poe was a foundling, she was still a Filipino citizen because she never came out to acquire her Filipino citizenship.

Granted that the biological mother of Grace Poe knew that her father was an American, she would have been better off dropping the baby in front of the US embassy because of her American parentage. But this is not the point! The point is… why are the spin masters of the Aquino regime questioning her citizenship now? But when she was given the job at the Movie Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) her citizenship was never questioned, so too when she ran for Senator of the land.

It is a fact that even to the last minute when the LP was asking her to be the vice-presidential candidate for Mar Roxas, her citizenship was not considered a stumbling block. But now that the Social Weather Station (SWS) came out with their latest survey that she was still number one in the Presidential race, she is the only stumbling block to the Presidential ambitions of Mar Roxas and so by hook or by crook or by Justice Carpio, Grace Poe has to be taken down from this presidential race so as the SWS survey shows, puts Mar Roxas ahead of Vice-President Jejomar Binay.

If you ask me, this is just the beginning of the woes of Sen. Grace Poe. She would have been better off running as the vice-president of Mar Roxas so she would have gotten the legal “protection” that is given to those

who espouse the Daang Matuwid line. But then Sen. Grace Poe is a bull-headed person who doesn’t back down when her mind is made up. This is why despite all the good advice given to her, she still chose Sen. Chiz Escudero as her running mate, a person that a lot of people dislike.

Meanwhile the Aquino regime is deteriorating fast. Remember when the Bureau of Customs (BOC) decided to search and tax the balikbayan boxes… it created a humongous howl in social media that the otherwise hard-headed P-Noy backed down on this just a few days later, announcing to the people last Aug. 24 in Cebu City that this will not happen.

Then out of the blue, President Aquino sought for the “Alternative Truth” on the Mamasapano debacle that led to the massacre of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers, because he was siding with the line of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on who killed Abdhir Marwan? We’ve always believed that it was the SAF who killed Marwan.

Then came that Sept. 14 Manifesto of Retired Officers that was splashed in the

Philippine STAR and we saw P-Noy do a 360-degree turn and finally accepted the real and not the alternative truth that the SAF killed Marwan. What we are seeing here is a President losing his grip on many hot issues, where he ends up literally eating his words. It is very unlike the intransigent P-Noy we have known in the last five years as President.
