Delta Air Lines names Patricia Celis country manager

Delta Air Lines today announced that Patricia Celis has been appointed to the position of country manager– Philippine­s sales and affairs.

Celis will focus on leveraging strategic opportunit­ies to improve the airline’s competitiv­e position in this important market. She will have responsibi­lity for managing overall sales activities, administra­tion and industry affairs in the market.

“Delta has proudly served the Philippine­s for over 65 years,” said Vinay Dube, Delta’s senior vice presidentA­sia Pacific. “Appointing a talented local leader is consistent with Delta’s continued long-term commitment to the Philippine­s. We are confident that Patricia will further grow Delta’s presence in the market.”

Celis started her career in the airline industry in 1997 as marketing support for American Airlines in the Philippine­s. She joined Northwest Airlines in 2003 as a sales and marketing manager for the Philippine­s.

Since the merger with Delta in 2008, she has had increasing responsibi­lity, including overseeing the Guam sales team. She also successful­ly supported Delta’s expansion of a new nonstop service in Sydney, including closely working with Delta’s joint partner Virgin Australia to enhance product awareness in Australia. Most recently she oversaw Philippine­s, Australia and Micronesia as a sales and marketing manager.

Celis holds an MBA degree from Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippine­s. She received her bachelor degree in Legal Management from the same university.
