Radio execs hold confab in Lanao del Norte

-

A total of 130 officers of the Nutriskwela Community Radio Network from all over the country converged at the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) Hotel, Tubod, Lanao del Norte for their annual national convention recently.

This was the first time they held the convention outside Metro Manila aimed to get first hand information and feel the pulse of those who are in the forefront of the fight against malnutrition.

“It is truly an honor to be chosen as your host for this convention and to see personally the people who are in the forefront in our fight against malnutrition here in the Philippines,” said Gov. Khalid Dimaporo.

The participants had come from 35 community radio stations located in different parts of the country from Batanes to Tawi-Tawi comprising station managers, programming heads, production heads and head technicians.

After the lectures, the delegates were toured into several barangays of the province: Barangays San Juan, Baroy and Maranding in Lala and the world-class MCC sports complex in Tubod.

“When we go back to our respective cities and towns, we shall testify of the warm hospitality and quietness of your beautiful province. It’s no wonder why Lanao del Norte is known as the land of beauty and bounty,” said Maria Salve Regina Tenedero, of DYNNFM (Radyo Kasugbong) from Catubig, Northern Samar.

Gov. Dimaporo hosted a dinner for the delegates and gave out Acer tablets, digital voice recorders, earphones, memory cards and USBs for the raffle draw during their stay on the first day of the convention.

1st District Congresswoman Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo encouraged the visiting broadcast journalists to continue their advocacy regarding proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle and distributed several android celfones as prizes in the raffle draw.
