It was a rainy Saturday afternoon but the crowd was abuzz at the first installment of Mandala Park Weekend Market on Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. The weekend market is a monthly series under the guidance of master food curator
JJ Yulo.
Mandala Park CEO Jojo Litton Gallego said this weekend market gives a peek into the many offerings lined up to usher in a new community that will elevate the city of Mandaluyong into a center of genuine wellness and promote sustainable buildings.
Gastronomic discoveries as well as good, homegrown food from handpicked merchants abound — tender and succulent ribs, savory ramen, Mexican and Korean classics, delectable vegetable snacks and dishes, freshly made ginger ale and guiltfree ice cream, just to name a few.
All merchandise are hinged on health and wellness in a vast and open space with flourishing greenery. The presence of this weekend market proves that there is a new Mandaluyong in bloom.
The 3.2-hectare Mandala Park, located on the site of the former Liberty Center, is touted to be the new enclave of wellness, with a new green wall of 3,000 plants to help lower carbon emissions along Shaw Boulevard. No amount of rain could
dampen the throng that went there that late afternoon for the sumptuous and surprising offerings from the finest food joints and the soulful music by Basti Artadi with the Jazz Bastards.
