Our favorite tales in movies
Remember the times when we would just sit and listen to stories or open our favorite books over and over again? Those unforgettable tales about enchanting adventures, fairies and witches, princes and princesses, magic spells and far far away land. No matter how old one becomes, these tales will always have a place in your heart. Here are some of favorite childhood stories brought to life by filmmakers:
Cinderella, 2015. The fairy tale that continues to fascinate readers, Cinderella is truly a classic with its own unique storyline. For many years, people all over the world love and remember not just the main character but also the magic that goes with it — guess everybody needs a little magic from time to time.
La Belle et la Bete ( Beauty and the Beast), 2014. This is one story that teaches us about inner beauty and how love can bring about miracles. How can a beauty fall for a beast? Well,
the film surely shows audiences that it is possible.
Maleficent ( Sleeping Beauty),
2014. Many were surprised at how the film ended. Yes, it didn’t follow the classic ending of a prince and princess living happily ever after but it did make more sense — seems viewers can relate more on this one.
Snow White and the Huntsman, 2012. Fans of Disney’s classic Snow White story will definitely be dumbfounded after watching movie. It is not a light, happy and colorful fairy tale that we are all used to. This one is full of action and it is quite dark but it doesn’t matter because Snow White is still as white as snow and with lips as red as blood.
Peter Pan ( several versions). The tale about a boy who never grows up and lives in “Never, Never Land.” He takes a group of siblings to an adventure they will forever remember. The story has a lot of characters, some of them are actually odd. That is why it is interesting to see them
being played by actual actors.
Alice in Wonderland (several versions). Another one of those children’s tales with lots of characters, Alice in Wonderland is about a girl’s accidental adventure into a strange land with strange characters in it. There are many versions/re-makes of this story but this doesn’t matter much to viewers as long as they get to see Alice explore the wonderland.
Robin Hood ( several versions). There are a number of versions of this film and they
are almost always a hit when they’re shown. Guess there’s just something with The Prince of Thieves that makes viewers excited when he’s alive onscreen.
The Jungle Book, 1994. The tale is about a boy named Mowgli who grows up in the wild. The jungle becomes his home and the animals are his friends and family. It is truly a treat for fans of this story to see it in cinemas, played by real actors and animals.
Gulliver’s Travel, 2010. Although this version of the tale is a comedy and not as close to the original one, it surely brings to life the miniature island of Lilliput. Not only is it an entertaining film, it also gives some points about life — which is nice and true.
Clash of the Titans, 1981. Stories about the world of the gods and goddesses are the favorite of many. This is the reason why movies about it always comes out as blockbusters. Clash of the Titans is just a part of the many stories about mythology. I wonder if there will be another one coming out soon?
