Hospital of the Infant Jesus opens residency training

-

The Hospital of the Infant Jesus, founded by Dr. Rolando Songco, is a tertiary general hospital whose admission consists of mostly pediatric cases.

The pediatric training program is a three- year program accredited by the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) and has been around for nearly 50 years producing successful graduates from all over the Philippines and abroad. The hospital provides a venue for learning the art of pediatrics in a private hospital setting with a family oriented atmosphere. Being guided by its philosophy, it is well known for the competence and compassionate care rendered to its patients.

The members of the residency training staff are all Fellows or Diplomates of the PPS. Most of them are teaching pediatrics in the faculty of medicine and surgery of the University of Santo Tomas and had subspecialty training abroad. They are all certified by the subspecialty boards of their respective subspecialty societies under the PPS.

The program has produced graduates who have done exceptionally well in both the written and oral specialty board examination. The residents have been winning yearly competitions and currently hold the championship title for the PPS Quiz Bee 2014, with a 100% passing at the recently concluded written portion of the PPS certifying exam for diplomate on Nov. 11, 2015.

For inquiries regarding the residency training you may contact Dr. Ayza Mauryn Salon (0917-7935583 or 7312834) or visit room 518 (resident’s quarters) or at the pedia OPD.
