UE student wins YMCA Congress magazine cover design contest
University of the East (UE) Manila student Christian Baria bested his competitors in the Congress Magazine Cover Design Contest 2015 of the Young Men’s Christian Association of Manila (YMCA-Manila) to win first prize.
Baria’ s winning artwork will be the featured cover design for the commemorative magazine of the 40th YMCA National Congress of College Students (YMCA NCCS).
Baria is a 4th year BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing student of the College of Computer Studies and Systems. He is the current assistant auditor of the UE College Y Club chapter. He was the treasurer of the University Student Council for school year 2014-2015 and PRO of the CCSS Student Council for SY 2013-14.
Baria will be among the UE Manila delegates in the upcoming YMCA NCCS on Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 at Teacher’s Camp in Baguio City. Its congress theme is Synergy @ 40: Networking through Engagement to Become Responsible and Good Youth.
For winning the cover design contest, Baria is exempted from paying the Congress’s registration fee. He will be formally recognized during the awarding ceremonies at the Congress.
At the 38th YMCA NCCS, Baria was a contributor for the YMCA Congress Balita and a contestant for the on-the-spot poster making contest. He was named outstanding delegate, elected cluster cochair, and elected commission chair at the 39th Congress.
