The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the 2016 calendar of national civil service written examinations.

In an advisory, the CSC said it will administer five types of eligibility examination with the following schedule: Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and Penology Officer Examination (POE), March 13; Career Service Examination, Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) for professional and subprofessional levels, April 17 and Oct. 23; and CSE for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO), Aug. 7.

The CSE- PPT for professional and subprofessional levels are open to Filipino citizens, regardless of educational attainment, who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination in less than three months.

For the CSE-PPT scheduled on April 17, applicants must not take the same level of examination from Jan. 17, to April 16.

The CSC advisory also noted that application period for the April 17, CSEPPT started on Nov. 9, 2015 and will end on Feb. 25. Application must be filed personally at the CSC regional office or at any CSC Field Office where the applicant intends to take the test.

For application requirements and other information regarding the CSE-PPT, applicants should refer to CSC examination announcement No. 07, s. 2015 now posted in the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph. Examination fee for CSE-PPT is P500.

The simultaneous conduct on March 13, 2016 of FOE and POE is in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, respectively. For application details and other information on FOE and POE, interested applicants are advised to check the CSC website for respective examination announcements.

The CSC will administer the CSE-FSO on Aug. 7, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The CSE-FSO is both an eligibility exam for government service and a qualifying test for the five-part Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE) of the DFA.

The DFA issues the announcement for FSOE, for which the CSE-FSO forms the first part. Applications for FSOE are filed at Regional Consular Offices of the DFA, or at Philippine embassies or consulates, or at the DFA-Board of Foreign Service Examinations in Pasay City.
