AHMOPI holds 25th annual convention

The Associatio­n of Health Maintenanc­e Organizati­ons of the Philippine­s Inc. will hold its 25th annual convention on Nov. 25 at the St. Luke’s Medical CenterGlob­al City, one of the country’s premier institutio­nal healthcare providers and AHMOPI's “hospital of choice.”

This year’s convention theme is “Celebratin­g our Silver, Going for the Gold.”

Topics for presentati­on have been lined up and will be delivered by some of the country’s foremost authoritie­s in their respective fields of expertise headed by keynote speaker Roberto Policarpio, president of the People Management Associatio­n of the Philippine­s.

Plenary speakers include Jay McLean, Asia’s leading online marketing business coach and educator, business growth strategist, internatio­nal bestsellin­g author and founder of Business Evolution – Cutting Edge Business Results; Robin Navarro, head consultant of the Wellness and Rejuvenati­on Center; Cory Quirino, national director of Miss World Philippine­s; Manuel Francisco Roxas, chairman of the department of surgery, The Medical City; and Joyce Socao-Alumno, country manager-Philippine­s, Aster DM Healthcare LLC and executive director and chief strategist of HealthCORE.

There will also be talks from St. Luke’s Medical Center vice president and division head for industry relations and special projects Jo Aguilar and Abbott Laboratori­es medical affairs manager-establishe­d products division Noel Cruz.

On celebratin­g 28 years of corporate existence, AHMOPI chairman Ernesto Rufino Jr. said, “We continue to exert all- out efforts in helping to establish a definitive regulatory environmen­t and are confident that an industry- nurturing regulatory structure will be in place in the very near future.”

AHMOPI president Mario Silos said, “Even as we face a new era of transition and transforma­tion, we remain undaunted by the challenge of change. Our bedrock has and will always be our faith in our purpose of bringing affordable health care to as many Filipinos as we can reach, grounded on our core values of integrity and fairness.”

AHMOPI executive director and overall convention chairman Carlos da Silva thanked their industry partners. “We hold in very high esteem our members; our valued clients and plan holders; our institutio­nal healthcare provider- partners and doctors; our friends in the industry, in government and the private sector; the major medical specialty societies with which we have memorandum­s of agreement; and the various publics we serve without whom we would not have reason to look back with gratitude from our humble beginnings,” he said.

Current AHMOPI members include Avega Managed Care Inc., Blue Cross Health Care Inc., Caritas Health Shield Inc., Cocolife Health Care, Health Maintenanc­e Inc., Health Plan Philippine­s Inc., Insular Health Care Inc., Intellicar­e, and Medicard Philippine­s Inc.
