BNA cites 30 leading tycoons and business leaders for excellence
Today, BizNewAsia marks its 14th year of leadership as the Philippines’ largest and most influential weekly business and news magazine by honoring 30 of our best and brightest entrepreneurs, CEOs, and leaders for excellence and contribution to the betterment of the Filipino.
The anniversary event starts at 6:45 tonight at the EDSA Shangri-la Garden Ballroom. Its also marks founder and editor Tony Lopez’s 67th birth anniversary.
BizNewsAsia was founded in 2001 by Tony Lopez, one of the most senior, multi-awarded, and experienced Asian journalists. For the past 45 years, he has worked with the largest and most iconic publications in the world, including The Manila Times, the Manila Chronicle, The Times Journal, The Mainichi Shimbun, German TV ZDF and ARD, Asiaweek, Manila Standard, and now as publisher and editor of BizNewsAsia.
Lopez, who turns 67 today, finished Journalism, magna cum laude, on a four-year full scholarship at the University of Santo Tomas. He finished Global Journalism at the University of Stockholm, and took three semesters of MBA at Ateneo de Manila.
BizNewsAsia has a pass-on circulation of 350,000 readers with each copy being read on the average by 10 readers. Tonight’s awards are in three categories – Entrepreneurship Excellence, Management Excellence, and Excellence as a BizNewsAsia Real Estate Who Is Who (BREW).

The BREW awards are given men and women for their outstanding work that improved the life and lifestyle of the Filipino, especially in real estate, its ancillary businesses, public service, and advocacy work.
Former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara will be honored for lifetime achievement in public service and improving the lot of the Filipino.
Lawyer and SharePhil president Francis Lim will be honored for fighting for the rights of minority investors in corporations and for better corporate governance.
