3 caught in Taguig drug sting

Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested in a sting in Taguig City on Friday.

Salvador Mendoza, 31; Ronald Limpot, 34, and Edna Limpot, 30, were apprehended at the Market! Market! passenger jeepney terminal just before 4 p.m., Superintendent Lorenzo Trajano, chief of the Southern Police District’s Anti-illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group said in his report.

Five sachets, each containing approximately 100 grams of shabu, were seized from Mendoza and Ronald, he said.

Trajano also reported that a .45 caliber pistol, loaded with seven bullets, and P2,000 marked money used in the sting were confiscated from the two men.

Edna was arrested when she tried to prevent the policemen from placing the two men under arrest.

Police said the three suspects will be brought to the Taguig prosecutor’s office for the filing of charges.

On Oct. 19, the Taguig police declared that all of the city’s top 10 suspected drug pushers have been arrested following the capture of ex-Marine Alfonso Dacquel, considered the third most wanted alleged drug trafficker in Taguig, on Oct. 1.

Taguig police chief Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix Asis said Dacquel and his wife Siena Joyce, yielded six sachets of shabu with a street value of P150,000.

The city’s top two drug suspects, Michael Butch Tan and Sancho Espiritu, were arrested on Aug. 21 and Sept. 23, respectively.

The Taguig police also apprehended earlier this year the rest of the city’s top 10 drug suspects – Richard Silvestre, Isidro Llagas, Mardie Talampas, Jackie Abone, Adonis Venus, Bags Malay and Rawie Castro.
