Appointmen­ts, reappointm­ents of gov’t execs sent to CA

The appointmen­ts of ambassador­s, an audit commission­er and military officials and the reappointm­ent of elections, energy and civil service officials have been sent to the Commission on Appointmen­ts (CA) for confirmati­on.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. transmitte­d the appointmen­ts and reappointm­ents to the CA last week.

Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose, who holds the rank of assistant secretary, was appointed ambassador to Malaysia.

Celia Anna Feria was appointed as ambassador to Spain, while Uriel Norman Garibay was named ambassador to Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles and Somalia. Garibay was also nominated as permanent representa­tive to the United Nations Environmen­t Program and to the UN Human Settlement­s Program.

Also appointed was Denis Lepatan as ambassador to Norway with concurrent jurisdicti­on over Iceland, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Lilybeth Deapera was appointed as ambassador to Chile with concurrent jurisdicti­on over Peru and Ecuador.

Meanwhile, Isabel Dasalla Agito was appointed as commission­er of the Commission on Audit.

For the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s, the President has notified the CA about the promotions of Romeo Tanalgo to lieutenant general; Noel Clement and Ronnie Evangelist­a to brigadier general; Jonathan Gabor to colonel and Aldrin Doctor to captain.

The President also appointed Benjamin Madrigal Jr. as major general, Nelia Valmonte as brigadier general and Raul Hernandez as colonel.

The President has reappointe­d Energy Secretary Zenaida Monsada, Commission­er Sheriff Abas of the Commission on Elections and Commission­er Nieves Osorio of the Civil Service Commission.

The new appointmen­ts of the three officials were dated Dec. 18, 2015, the day Congress adjourned its session for its month-long Christmas recess.
