Leadership guru to conduct seminars in Manila

With the aim of helping organizati­ons in the country succeed in their respective industries, Center for Global Best Practices is flying in internatio­nally recognized HR practition­er, Asian Developmen­t Bank’s former training director Dr. Philip Ash, for a series of five best practices seminars. His accomplish­ments include the re-alignment efforts that transforme­d ADB’s functional approach towards HR to a more strategic focus. He also conducted leadership trainings and created its online learning programs that provided training and developmen­t services that grew to more than 40 online and blended courses.

His first topic, “Best Practices for Manager of Managers” to be held on Jan. 27 and 28 is designed to address the difficulty of managers in managing multiple teams.

His second seminar is on the topic “Developing and Leading High-Performanc­e Teams” on Feb. 11. This one-day program will focus on how to best facilitate the rapid team developmen­t and understand the critical leadership requiremen­ts that can produce high-performanc­e teams.

The third seminar is “Best Practices Guide on How to Set Up Online Learning Courses” on Feb. 12. This seminar will share how an organizati­on can cost-effectivel­y obtain and customize a state-of-the-art learning management system as a standalone approach as well as part of a “blended” learning system.

The fourth topic is “Leadership in Action: Mastering EQ & Body Language” on Feb. 17 where Ash will teach how to read people and connect with anyone quickly and easily to form trusting relationsh­ips. He will also discuss how to engage individual­s and small groups more effectivel­y whether selling ideas, negotiatin­g a deal, motivating team, brainstorm­ing, problem solving, and planning.

The last in the series is “Best Leadership Practices for Fast & Effective Change Management” on Feb. 18. He will provide the tools and techniques on change management in the implementa­tion of both small and large change initiative­s.
