UST High School Class ’66 golden jubilee at Dusit Hotel

The University of Santo Tomas High School Class 1966 will celebrate its golden jubilee from Feb. 16 to 18.

A welcome reception on Feb 16 for teachers and jubilarian­s will be held at The Fifth social hall of the Residences Condominiu­m in Greenbelt, Makati. This meet-and-greet luncheon party is hosted by high school valedictor­ian Joe Aquino with Martha Martinez-Roxas as co-emcee. Famous band organist Marcy David will provide musical entertainm­ent and accompanim­ent for batchmates who will sing.

High school groupmates will hold their own minireunio­ns on Feb. 17.

The gala night on Feb. 18 will be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel ballroom. Jorge Hizon and Josie Geraldez- Castillo from Australia will co- host the event.

Musicales in three acts will be performed by talented jubilarian­s who will sing and dance to the beat of Chuck Berry’s Twist, Latino Chacha and the Swing, choregraph­ed by Jane PalafoxLyl­es and Rosendo Ocampo. The USTHS66 Choir was only recently organized by jubilarian­s to sing a tribute to departed batchmates. Capping the reunion is the Golden Jubilee Toast and the grand finale.

The homecoming organizing committee is chaired by Ambet Laparan and former Gen. Gabriel Habacon with Fe Sto. Domingo Aquino, Louie Reyes and Vicky DomingoPab­lo as members.

Ambet Laparan and Bong Habacon embarked on several fundraisin­g activities and golf tournament­s to subsidize the reunion, along with personal donations of jubilarian­s here and abroad.

Teachers who will attend include historian-dancer, Guillermo Gomez, Letty Corpuz -Syquia, Reme’ Ferrer-Ramos, wife of the late renowned architect Jorge Ramos and Gli Limcaoco- Espiritu, wife of designer Christian Espiritu.
