A charity ride to fight violence against women

-

Zonta International, a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy, recently inaugurated its first e-Club in the Philippines.

Aptly named Zonta e- Club of the Philippines 1, the club is composed of younger women from various industries who have come together under the tutelage of their older Zontian counterparts to help raise awareness about violence against women.

By raising responsiveness through education for information building; implementing, promoting and enforcing laws for protection; and providing medical, legal, rehabilitation and reintegration for a survivor’s welfare, the Club is certain much can be done to advance the status of women in the country.

In partnership with Electric Studio, an indoor cycling boutique, the Club is coming up with its first fund raising activity, “Cycling for a Cause: A Charity Ride to Fight Violence Against Women.”

Bike ride classes for a total of eight sessions are readily available for purchase. These classes are full-body workouts that entail varied movements while cycling that will help tone and strengthen the arms and the core. The event is open to both newbies and riding enthusiasts who want to share in this worthwhile cause as proceeds will serve as initial seed fund for the club activities.

Living up to its name, the Zonta e-Club of the Philippines 1 aims to diversify the ways of garnering attention to advance its mission through new and current channels and up to date activities that will both be valuable and fun.

Come ride with the times and join Zonta as it moves towards uplifting the status of women, one cycle at a time.
