Netizens name outstanding CPAs
In December last year Netizens were invited to submit to the Board on Acounting the names of CPAs who need not be a luminary yet had positive achievements in 2015.
This search was an “unofficial,” one without any formal board of judges involved, complex criterion and rules, and formal awarding ceremonies.
Taking all these into account, the Board selected five CPAs who have been able to do their share in the various activities of the BoA’s Expanding Horizon activities.
Awardees for the “Netizens Search for Outstanding CPAs in 2015” are:
1. Dean Estelita Aguirre, an active volunteer of the BoA and EH activities. She is also an active PICPA member and chairman of the international relations committee of PICPA.
2. Ambassador Antonio Cabangon Chua, former ambassador to Laos, a reserved colonel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, philanthropist,, and businessmen whose business interest includes Philippine Business Daily Mirror Publishing Inc., where the Debit Credit column of the accountancy profession is hosted weekly.
3. Heidi Mendoza, undersecretary general for the UN Office of Internal Oversight, former commissioner of the Commission on Audit, and was instrumental in the realization of BoA CoA BOC PICPA memorandum of agreement on Citizens Participatory Audit.
4. Betty Siy-Yap, chief financial officer and senior vice president of Meralco, and formerly a member of the Board of Accountancy when the Expanding Horizons initiative was launched.
5.
