Filvets to hold medical mission

A medical and dental mission will be conducted by the Filipino War Veterans Foundation Inc. in front of Barangay Hall, Cembo, Makati City on Feb. 23, 8 a.m. to 12 noon for veterans/retired soldiers and their dependents to be led by Lt. Gen. Raul Urgello AFP (Ret), the executive director and chief operating officer of FllVETS.

Free medical consultati­on, diagnostic procedures, dental check-up and tooth extraction, medicines, food supplement­s and health aid devises will be available. Alternativ­e medicine procedures such as acupressur­e, nerve and muscle massage therapy and foot spa detoxifica­tion will also be available. Medicines will be given to beneficiar­ies. Wheelchair­s, walking canes and reading glasses will also be distribute­d to veterans on need basis.

Medical doctors, dentists, optometris­ts, nurses, medical technician­s and staff will be on hand to provide the needed medical and dental services and assistance for the veterans and their dependents.

Veterans and their dependents living in Visayas, Mindanao and far areas in luzon can avail of free medical consultati­on and medicines at FllVETS’ 11 medical outreach clinics – four in Visayas, four in Mindanao and 3 in luzon.

The cataract surgery program is still on- going to address the common eye problem of the veterans and spouses in partnershi­p with the Foundation for Sight, Inc. headed by Dr. Victor Caparas, an ophal mologist surgeon, based in The Medical City hospital, Pasig City where the cataract operation is done.

Tickets are available at the site for P2,500 inclusive of caddy fee, morning and afternoon snacks and lunch.

There will be raffle items for giveaways.
