DLSU-D’s TOEIC results ensure int’l quality education
At the core of the ASEAN Integration in 2015 is quality assurance. Professionals who are considered highly skilled and meet the quality requirements will have access to international career opportunities within ASEAN.
De La Salle University Dasmariñas currently led by president Br. Augustine Boquer is accredited by two quality standards ISO 9001:2008 and PAASCU. PAASCU accreditation ensures that the degree programs meet quality standards on competent faculty, available learning materials and other important academic qualities. ISO 9001: 2008 ensures that the management systems of the university meet international standards.
Universities who care deeply about their students such as DLSU-D make sure that the important quality measure is ensuring the competence and international employability of its graduates. DLSU-D chose the TOEIC tests to measure the English skills of its students and were used by the Language and Literature Center during its ISO 9001:2008 quality accreditation.
The ETS TOEIC tests are the world leader in assessing English proficiency for the workplace with seven million tests delivered in over 140 countries in 2013. Seven out of the top 10 largest companies prefer the TOEIC tests and scores are recognized by over 14,000 organizations worldwide.
The awareness of the students of the importance of internationalization is impressive. As when they were surveyed 98.9 percent stated that they valued their TOEIC certification. Their graduating students consistently average English scores at par with international standards. The accountancy students achieved an average score of 912 out of 990 during the school year 2014-2015, an outstanding result.
“Ensuring that our graduates are both locally and internationally competitive is our way of preparing each and every student for ASEAN 2015,” the learning language department said.
