More than 70 percent of public officials and government employees do not take to heart the preparation and filing of their SALNs. They should. Many of them even rely on their accountants or secretaries who are not skilled enough in preparing their SALN. With a more vigilant public and impending passage of the Freedom of Information Bill, you can be an easy target for lawsuits and vulnerable to bad publicity if you have an erroneous and inconsistent SALN. This has caused the downfall of leaders with their impeachment/ conviction and removal from office, while others are in jail awaiting completion of their trial with their reputation sullied and destroyed.
In this one- day seminar workshop, attendees will learn the best practices, remedies and defenses of their SALN. Topics include how to correct prior years’ SALN, networth discrepancy method of detecting illgotten wealth, reconciling SALN with ITR, certification, waiver, undertakings and more!
The seminar will feature expert law practitioner and seasoned defense lawyer of many public officials with cases in the Ombudsman and Sandiganbayan, Jose Alvarez Gangan, CPA. Presently, he is the managing director of G & J Strategies, CEO of H& WB Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and chairman of the board of Frontier Cove & Coast Inc. He also served as the chief legal counsel of Teofisto T. Guingona, Jr. when he was a senator and the executive secretary to former President Fidel V. Ramos.
