The Wings: First capsule hotel at NAIA Terminal 3
The biggest improvement at NAIA Terminal 3 is the Philippines’ first-ever airport pay transit lounge: The Wings. Operated by the Jipang Group of Companies, The Wings aims to give people a totally unique pre-flight experience.
“We are geared towards giving travelers worldclass services on a 24-hour basis,” said Kaycee Matsuda, external affairs director of the Jipang Group. “This will help them feel relaxed and refreshed prior to their flights, regardless of whether it’s a short trip or one for the long haul.”
The Wings is a mixed-use facility made up of a main lounge, a day spa and short-term accommodations modeled after Japan’s famed capsule hotels.
Travelers only pay P500 for a two-hour stay at the lounge. The fee includes access to a buffet catered by celebrity chef Boy Logro. Those wishing to stay longer pay an additional P 175 per hour.
“The accommodations at The Wings were built around the concept of the Japanese capsule hotel,” Matsuda explains. “In doing so, we offer both comfort and convenience to those flying very early or very late flights.”
The Wings offers comfortable singleoccupant chambers, but also caters to larger groups by offering cozy twin rooms, bunkrooms, and family rooms.
Accommodation rates begin at P880 for a five-hour minimum capsule stay, inclusive of a light meal. Twin rooms go for P1,600 while bunkrooms can be availed of at P 2,100, both for a minimum five-hour stay. Family rooms are pegged at P2,600 for five hours. All packages include light meals for guests.
Standard spa services offered at The Wings include manicure and pedicure; packages are likewise available for those who want to have a combination of relaxing procedures. Skilled therapists from the Jipang Group’s SM Kenko Spa are available for full-body and area-specific massages with hour-long massages priced at P675 per person. The Wings is also the first facility of its kind in the country to offer shower rooms at P300 per use.
The Wings Pay Transit Lounge is located on the fourth level of NAIA Terminal 3.
