Milcu summer caging draws record field

-

A total of 58 teams will vie for top honors in five divisions when the Milcu Sports Malolos Republic unveils its third summer showcase on April 16 at the Enderun Colleges gym.

Milcu CEO and founder Victor Cusi said he is impressed with the turnout of the annual summer basketball tournament organized by Got Skills and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, which drew top Metro Manila and provincial schools, teams and clubs.

“This promises to be a tough competition with big schools playing in all divisions,” said Cusi. “This also serves as the opportunity for non-UAAP and NCAA teams to showcase their talents.”

He added that Milcu’s partnership with the league has been a big boost to the product.

Events on tap are 12-under, 13-U, 14-U, 16-U and 25-U, according to tournament director Allen Ricardo.

“We are thankful to Milcu for their support. We promise a blockbuster event this year,” said Ricardo.

Other backers of the event are Basketball TV, Gatorade, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, Kawasaki, LGR, SLAM, Rain or Shine, Honda, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Secret Fresh, Mighty Sports, and Nousha Kebabs and Barbeque.

Arellano (25-U), Adamson (15-U), National University (13-U), and Xavier School (12-U) captured the Hard To Guard conference titles last month.
