1Pacman advocacies key to its No. 3 finish
Party-list 1Pacman’s phenomenal rise to No. 3 in the election has been attributed to its effective communication of its advocacies to voters.
As of May 12, 1Pacman has garnered 1.28 million votes with 95.68 percent of precincts tallied to place third overall among party-list groups.
A neophyte group, 1Pacman rose from the bottom of the surveys to the top 3 just a week before the May 9 election.
In the last SWS survey before the election, 1Pacman placed third from No. 28 in the previous surveys.
With the election result, 1Pacman is assured of at least one seat in the House of Representatives through its first nominee, sports leader and businessman Dr. Michael Romero.
“We are very thankful to the Filipino voters who chose 1Pacman as their party-list group. Our success can be attributed to how we effectively informed voters of our advocacies: job creation, education and sports development,” Romero said.
He also thanked various personalities including PBA players and apparent senator-elect Manny Pacquiao for endorsing 1Pacman.
“I congratulate soon-to-be senator Pacquiao for his success,” Romero added.
Romero said he will focus on developing more productive Filipino youth through sports and sports development and use his expertise towards creating one million jobs for Filipinos.
A sports leader and businessman, Romero is an expert in finance and economics and has two doctorate degrees in Economics and Management. He was named as the Management Man of the Year in 2008.
“We promise the Filipino people that we will work hard to uplift their lives,” Romero said.
