7-star service training for butlers
The Asian School of Hospitality Arts ( ASHA), in partnership with the world’s longest- running Magnums Butler Academy ( MBA) will hold a 7- star service training for butlers May 16- 20 at The Manila Hotel. An extensive program on professional luxury butler service, the workshop will be spearheaded by MBA’s renowned principal trainer and director, Josephine Ive.
As a foremost authority and UK’s first female butler to the British royals, Ive’s professional track record includes training butlers from all over the world for 30 years.
“The term butler has moved forward, it has gained much publicity. Butler service has grown into many different avenues these days, not just in hotels, not just in private house- holds, not just in luxury yachts or the cruise ships, and the private individuals who still look for butlers,” Ive said.
“I have a soft spot for Filipinos because they got a service heart. It is not difficult for them to give good, respectful service. It’s very natural, and around the world there are many Filipino butlers. The competency levels are very high, they study well and they are very attentive and really want to give utmost service,” she added.
Participants will be engaged in a five-day hands-on training workshop that will cover the following key topics: Personal Development Skills, Basic Guest Interaction Skills; Guest Awareness and Cultural Skills; Communication Skills; Basic Guest Care Skills; Table Set- ting and Food Service Skills; Beverage Service Skills; Basic Specialist Advise Skills and Guest Suite Skills.
Registration fee for the five-day session is at P45,000 and covers full tuition, including the 7-Star Service Handbook, a Magnums Butler bronze lapel pin, meals and a Magnums Butler Academy Certificate.
With a rapidly globalizing hospitality industry demanding highlyskilled workers who are able to perform and adapt to evolving needs and standards, the training course, according to Ive, will dramatically enhance the credentials and confidence of service providers as they take on the challenges of their profession.
