-

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recently broke ground for the establishment of its training center which is projected to start operation by the early quarter of next year. It will be occupying a 3,500m2 floor area within Mitsubishi Motors Philippines’s plant situated in the Special Economic Zone in Santa Rosa, Laguna. It has a two-storey facility capable of accommodating 250 trainees coming from MMPC’s dealers and plant workers at a time. Initial capital investment is P100 million for building and equipment facilities.

This facility will be the training venue for MMPC’s dealer personnel and plant production workers. Amenities include

vehicle showroom and service reception area, lecture & laboratory rooms (for engine, drivetrain, chassis, electrical, body & paint work area) and workbays where trainees can simulate an actual dealership scenario. MMPC believes that all dealerships are frontliners duty-bound to extend value- added services to all its customers. Comprehensive training programs were developed to continually enhance the technical skills of personnel to ensure that all serviced vehicles leaving dealers’ premises are in top condition. There will also be training offices, conference rooms and a library available for group discussions and individual studies.

MMPC’s president and CEO, Yoshiaki Kato, spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony along with other directors and officials. MMPC is highly confident that this new training center signals the birth of a new breed of technical experts trained in a world-class environment with stateof-the art training facilities which shall give added value to the Mitsubishi Motors brand.

This is another milestone for Mitsubishi Motors’ contribution to proactively support the surge of motorization in the Philippines which is aligned with the automotive industry roadmap developed through the Board of Investments of the Department of Trade and Industry. This shall open several job opportunities to beef up the projected requirements for skilled technicians in the growing number of Mitsubishi dealership network in the country and eventually envisioned to equip manpower for MMC’s Global Distributor Network.
