Written by Palanca winner Lilit Reyes and directed by internationally-recognized filmmaker Pepe Diokno, Single/Single 2 is a TV series to look out for.
Starred by Matteo Guidicelli as Joey and Shaina Magdayao as Joee, the show’s witty take on millennial dilemmas marked the series as a show for young adults in their transition into adulthood. As to what to expect from Single/Single 2, Matteo shares a glimpse of the plot.
“Single/Single season one ended with Joey and Joee splitting up. Joey thought they will live together and all, with him finally falling for Joee but unfortunately, Joee didn’t,” Matteo begins. “So he decided he had to move on and move out. Now
Single/Single 2 is going to be more exciting. It’s not anymore going to be about two single people living in a condo, but about two single people living two separate lives. They are millennials finding where they should go and what they should do. In this season, we’ll find out how they will grow as people and how they will grow their careers,” he adds. Matteo says he enjoys doing Single/
Single because it’s authentic, it’s not acting. Meanwhile, co-star Shaina shares how much she can relate with her character, Joee. In Single/Single 2, Joee will be a better character that grows with experience.
“In this season, I would like to think that somehow, after a few years, they (Joey and Joee) got a clue already on who they are. Joee finally knows who she wants to be. She knows what career she wants to pursue. How she’ll be able to deal with that, we’ll find out in the second season,” Shaina shares.
She furthers, “In the first season we find Joee having no time for love because of her personal problems. That’s why the season ender wasn’t much of a happy ending; it’s not the usual ending that you’d expect from typical teleseryes. And I loved it because finally I did something different.”
This season, we’ll find out if Joee is finally be ready to fall in love and make time for another person. Meanwhile, we can expect Joey to fulfill a career he knows he wants.
