- – Jaime Laude

The Philippine Army displayed the national flag at all military camps and offices yesterday and will continue to do so until June 30.

Army spokesman Col. Benjamin Hao said the flying of the national colors was part of the celebration of the 118th Philippine Independence on June 12.

A National Flag Day will also be celebrated on May 28 in Imus, Cavite as a kick-off activity for the commemoration of the country’s Independence Day. Hao said the national flag would be displayed at all military camps, bases and offices as well as major thoroughfares across the country. “This is part of the Army’s efforts in instilling patriotism among Filipinos,” Hao said.
