Batang Hotshots thwart Fuel Masters

Alain Ayrton Cajayon, Jean Capispisan and Ike Jordan Lim each scored 12 points as the Star Hotshots warded off the Phoenix Fuel Masters, 66-60, yesterday in the Cloudfone-Batang PBA 16-and-under basketball tournament at the Philippine Science High School gym in Quezon City.
The Batang Hotshots broke away from a tight 45-all game, wresting control in the fourth quarter en route, spoiling Elmar Marsonia’s 26-point output for the Fuel Masters.
In other games, unbeaten Tropang TNT overwhelmed Globalport, 100-34, after opening the game with a 37-7 first quarter surge. Six Batang Texters scored in double figures – Emmanuel Valencia Jr. and Kevin Garnett Raymundo each tallied 14 points and the trio of Antonio Lledo III, Greg Alfred delas Alas and Bryan Magtoto contributed 13 apiece. Noel Raniel Cruz finishing with 10 markers.
Alaska, on the other hand, mauled the NLEX Road Warriors, 65-46.
