Preparations for PDA’s annual confab in full swing
Participants to the forthcoming 107th annual convention of the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) to be held on May 25 to 30 at the SMX Convention Center, Seashell Drive, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City can look forward to an enriching and fruitful experience as convention organizers have been mobilizing their resources and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure that the nitty-gritty of the preparations are spelled out.
Dr. Jesus Tumaneng, a two time former PDA past president and general chair of the forthcoming convention disclosed that preparations are in full swing in all aspects of the convention themed “Professional Excellence for Global Competitiveness” from the scientific sessions to the trade exhibits.
The heart of the convention – the scientific sessions – will be hosted by the general and specialty affiliates of the PDA will feature a variety of topics to be discussed by both foreign and local lecturers to keep delegates abreast with dental breakthroughs. Aside from dental practitioners coming from different parts of the country, the convention will be attended by local and foreign dentists, dental hygienists, dental technologists and dental colleges and universities including their deans, faculty and students.
One of the confab’s sidelights is a daily health screening program (May 26-29) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. which will offer a wide array of medical services to all registered dentists.
All booths taken, the Dental Trade Exhibits, a permanent fixture in PDA annual conventions, will showcase the latest dental equipment and products, participated in by local and international traders.
Tumaneng is assisted in the organizing committee by the executive committee composed of Drs. Elizabeth Carrasco, executive secretary; Asteria Campanero, convention treasurer; Tagumpay Tapawan, convention auditor; Myrna Bañez Cluster 1 socials chair; Sonia Matic, Cluster 2 education and leadership chair; Elizabeth Carrasco, Cluster 3 membership chair; Albert Carbonell, Cluster 4 services chair and Corazon Flores, Cluster 5 ways and means chair.
The organizing committee has issued the following on-site registration rates: P3,800; PDA life member, P1,400; local students (undergraduate), P1,000; foreign students (undergraduate), P1,200; dental technologists and dental hygienists, P3,000 and accompanying persons, P1,500; and foreign delegates, $300.
