Pharex, Mercury Drug team up to provide free medicines
Pharex HealthCorp., the most prescribed brand of medicines, continues to support Mercury Drug’s Operation BigayLunas, a program which Mercury Drug has been conducting every year in line with its anniversary celebration.
As part of its ongoing initiative to promote optimum healthcare, Pharex provided high quality medicines to the beneficiaries of the program. Pharex is one of Mercury Drug’s chosen partners in giving basic medical services — free medical consultations and medicines — to underserved communities.
Mercury Drug conducts its annual Operation BigayLunas in 70 areas, five of which are assigned to Pharex — Hagonoy in Bulacan, Tarlac, San Mateo in Rizal, Naic in Cavite, and San Pedro in Laguna, where Pharex distributes medicines for chronic illnesses and infections, as well as meals and manpower. The team includes 10 physicians and volunteers in the checkup area.
According to Tomas Marcelo Agana III, president of Pharex HealthCorp., the company’s participation in Mercury Drug’s annual medical mission shows that organizations specializing in pharmaceutics can work together in promoting healthcare to Filipinos all over the country.
“To better serve the healthcare needs of Filipinos, different companies have to work together to broaden the scope of help,” Agana said. “This is our own way of giving back to the community and serving the public.”
Pharex, short for Pharmaceutical Excellence, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pascual Laboratories, Inc. which offers affordable medication to Filipinos.
