Llamas seeks rebound in PPS-PEPP Bohol

-

Tracy Llamas tries to atone for a winless campaign in Dumaguete last week as she shoots for a “double” against a crack field in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala regional age-group tennis tournament at the Sto. Niño Tennis Club in Ubay, Bohol starting today.

Lllamas struggled the last time out, bowing in the second round of the girls’ 16-U class then defaulting her match in the quarters of the 18-U section, enabling Bliss Bayking and Averille Sacapano to split top honors in the Dumaguete leg of the Group 2 tournament sponsored by Palawan Pawnshop and presented by Slazenger.

But Llamas is expected to bounce back along with fellow La Carlota, Negros Occidental bets Khenz and Rewel Justiniani and Alexa Milliam, who is gunning for back-to-back title romp in the girls’ 12-U side of the event backed by Asiatraders Corp., exclusive distributor of Slazenger, and sanctioned by the Philippine Tennis Association headed by president and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez

“While Llamas and the other top ranking bets remain the players to beat, we expect a number of reversals with a slew of unranked stars raring to prove their worth and gain ranking points,” said Palawan Pawnshop president/ CEO Bobby Castro.

Focus will also be on San Carlos’ Bliss Bayking, who racked up two victories in Dumaguete, along with Dumaguete aces Ibarra Ortega Jr., Giulian Bandoquillo and Christian Lagat and Reynan Mahusay of Pontevedra while Chad Connor Cuizon, Pherl Bless Coderos, Paul Coderos, Shedel Pagadian, Nilo Ledama and Wyne Pagliwanan banner the tough Cebu cast.

Rewel Justiniani, 14, and Mahusay, meanwhile, head the field in the boys’ 16-U and 18-U category, which includes Lagat, Jerome Gavituya, Helary Coderos, Nilo Ledama and Bryan Bayking.

Justiniani also gains the top seeding in the 14-U class along with sibling Khenz Justiniani, Bandoquillo, Kenneth Tenepre, Randy Labor and Leandry Albofera while Khenz Justiniani heads the 12-U field that includes Cuizon, Helary Coderos and Mike Lungay.
