French Baker introduces Qwikbread
Qwikbread, the newest bread and pastry concept of The French Baker’s founder and CEO Johnlu Koa, recently participated in Madrid Fusión Manila 2016, the biggest food industry event in the country. Setting up a booth in the trade exhibition hall, it showcased its extensive line of freshly-baked breads and tortillas, parbaked breads and pastries, and frozen doughs that are available to coffee shops, restaurants, bakeries and catering companies in bulk orders.

Kids get to be a chef for a day at Manila Hotel
The Manila Hotel offers its Summer Fiesta on May 28. All guests with children staying on the weekend of May 27 get one free pass to the Summer Fiesta, a special day of fun that aims to provide kids with a uniquely Filipino summer experience that promotes Filipino culture and values long before electronic gadgets took over. Discover the joy of playing Filipino-themed games like patintero, luksong-bato, Pepsi-7up and more. Spark one’s imagination with Adarna House’s story-telling activity. Learn the basic first aid and general safety tips from from Red Cross. Be a chef for a day with the cooking demo from The Manila Hotel kitchen team or have fun learning new moves as the Centro Escolar Universty Folkdance Troupe entertain the kids with a dance performance and a workshop. Everyone will get a scoop of “dirty” ice cream as well as the alltime favorite “taho with arnibal and sago.” There will also be turon, barbecue and a selection of fresh fruit shakes served in our pool and garden area. Special prizes will be given away to winners in the games and activities. Kids who come in the best and most unique Filipino costume and bring home the special prize. Walk-in guests (guests not staying in the hotel) can avail of the pass for only P999 per child.
