Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) launched its new advertisin­g campaign, the Bank with a Heart for Every Filipino with Heart Evangelist­a as its brand ambassador. It aims at revitalizi­ng the bank’s image that looks after the welfare of the veteran community. For the third edition of the Bataan

Over 1,000 registered runners signed up for the event organized by PVB with Without Limits as its race consultant.

The Bataan Freedom Run is held in honor of the thousands of Filipino and American World War II veterans who endured the Bataan Death March 74 years ago. It was one of the highlights of the celebratio­n of the Philippine Veterans Week and featured several distance categories: 10K, 5K, 1K and the 68.9K ultramarat­hon.

In the punishing 68.9K Ultra-Marathon category, the Top 3 were Argel Joseph Mendoza who finished the race in five hours, 53 minutes and 17 seconds, followed by Albert Omboga who clocked six hours, five minutes and 37 seconds. Coming in third place was Jojie Daga-As who crossed the finish line a few minutes after Omboga at six hours, 10 minutes and 23 seconds.

All winners received cash prizes and medals but the top finishers of the Ultra-Marathon also brought home a trophy as a memento of their achievemen­t.
