DILG brand identity manual 3M launched

- By CECILLE SUERTE FELIPE

Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento is pushing for honest, efficient and reliable public service.

Sarmiento led the national launching of the DILG’s brand identity manual (BIM) in a simple ceremony held recently at the Jesse Robredo Hall of DILG Central Office in Quezon City.

“We are showcasing our 3M brand which is “Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahan.” This is our brand of service and this is what the DILG really stands for. With these traits, we are trumpeting our call for good governance through honest, efficient and reliable public service,” he said.

The branding initiative is in line with the DILG’s efforts to set up standards, guidelines, templates, and tools for communicating the DILG’s key messages to both its internal audience and external clients.

In his keynote message to DILG officials and employees, Sarmiento said the DILG brand manual of style will help communicate the brand of service not just to its own people but also to local government units, stakeholders and the public.

Undersecretary Austere Panadero, who steered the project from conceptualization up to the finalization stage, said the BIM was developed through the assistance of the Philippines Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility (PAHRODF) and went through various consultations with DILG officials and employees both in the central and in regional offices.

“The DILG is grateful to Executive Dir. Milalin Javellana of PAHRODF for their assistance in the development of our DILG Brand Identity Manual and also to Planning Service headed by Dir. Francisco Cruz which was the initial process owner that assisted the PAHRODF on this project,” said Panadero.

“The Public Affairs and Communication Service (PACS) is now ready to champion the implementation of the BIM to make sure that this Communications Brand Manual of Style becomes a reality for the Department,” he said.

The launching spearheaded by the Public Affairs and Communication Service also introduced the three characters of Isko na Matino, Isay na Mahusay at Ana na Maaasahan, the 3M’s brand personalities that represent the DILG.
