Masters Challenge fund-raiser slated at Southwoods
Inspired by last year’s success, the Immaculate Concepcion Academy (ICA) Batch ’94 and the Southwoods Ladies Chapter will be holding the 18th Masters Challenge fundraising tournament at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club’s Masters course tomorrow.
The 18-hole tournament is a two-player team competition where pairs are divided into four divisions according to their respective handicaps.
Herbert Chan and Kristian Yu topped last year’s edition with the duo all primed up for a successful defense of their crown. But the rest of the field will be out to spoil their drive for a second straight championship, guaranteeing a spirited battle for top honors in the event.
A brand new Yamaha Golf Cart, courtesy of Kart Plaza, will be staked as one-in-one prize in the tournament backed by Contigo as platinum sponsor.
In last year’s staging of the event, which ICA and SLC co-hosted, the ICA Greenhills Scholarship Foundation, Inc. awarded scholarships to deserving ICA students.
It also provided financial assistance to public high school and college students in San Juan City.
“We are delighted with the previous result that we have decided to hold it again, of course, in partnership with the Southwoods Ladies,” said ICA Batch ’94 alumna and tournament director Claire Ong.
The tournament is backed by Contigo as platinum sponsor.
Other supporters of the event are Eurotel, Banana Peel, Clara International Skin and Body Center, Dunlop, HBW, Kenny Rogers, Pioneer Truck Parts and Equipment Corp., Solar Entertainment, Standard Insurance, DADs World Buffet and Therm-Aire Solar Hybrid Aircon Sytem.
Also on tap are the fun holes for the longest drive, most accurate drive and nearest to the pin while top prizes will be raffled off during awards rites.
