Policemen conducting antiillegal drug operations killed 13 suspected drug pushers and users in alleged shootouts in various parts of the country in the past two days.

Two suspected drug pushers and an addict were shot dead in separate incidents in Manila early Tuesday morning.

Supt. Jackson Tuliao, commander of Manila Police District Station 3, said a police undercover agent shot dead a pusher identified as Rashid and his still unidentified com- panion during a botched drug deal along Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo, Manila.

Tuliao said the suspects were selling P110,000 worth of shabu to undercover agent Police Officer 1 Alexander Dioso near the Isetann Department Store.

He said Rashid noticed the fake money brought by Dioso to buy the drugs and the suspect drew his gun.

Dioso immediately shot Rashid and his companion.

Police said unidentified men shot dead alleged drug user Carlos Madrid, 28, while the victim was sleeping inside his tricycle in Gate 14 Parola Compound, Tondo.

Police said the victim, who was a known drug addict, had been at odds with other tricycle drivers.

Two other still unidentified drug pushers were killed in a shootout with Muntinlupa police during an entrapment operation before dawn yesterday.

According to an initial police report, the shootout took place along Civic 5 Drive in Alabang.

The report said Muntinlupa police intelligence agents engaged the two suspects in a shootout during the buy-bust operation.

In Caloocan City, another suspected drug peddler was killed after he allegedly grabbed the gun of one of the police officers who arrested him last Monday night.

Chief Insp. Bernard Pagaduan led an anti-drug operation in Barangay 188 in Tala and they arrested the suspect, identified only as Mike, who was spotted throwing a plastic sachet of shabu.

The raiding team also collared Marlyn Pamintuan and Charito Agpasa who were accidentally seen by operatives having a pot session.

The three were arrested and loaded into a police car.

Pagaduan claimed that Mike grabbed the gun of one of the policemen while en route to the police station. Another police officer shot the suspect.

In Pampanga, a drug pusher and his companion were gunned down while a policeman was injured in a shootout in Barangay Calulut in San Fernando City.
